The SCOM Customer Engineer will work directly with customers, as a consultant and technical advisor to:

  • Design, Deploy, Review and Assess the Health of their infrastructure
  • Upgrade and maintain their deployments
  • Troubleshoot issues with infrastructure and agents
  • Tune and optimize for the most performance
  • Assist with reporting and visualizations
  • Implement new management packs
  • Assist in development of custom management packs
  • Provide training in all areas of SCOM to ensure customer goals are met

Ideal candidate experience:

  • 3 years working as a depth expert and technology owner or consultant for SCOM
  • Broad knowledge across multiple monitoring scenarios:
  • Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • SQL Server, Active Directory, Certificates, IIS, MCM
  • Management Pack Authoring using XML, Visual Studio
  • URL, Network monitoring
  • Connecting to ITSM systems
  • Dashboards, Reporting, and Visualizations
  • Scripting language skills, primarily in PowerShell
  • Deep level knowledge in at least 3 of the above categories
  • Ability to present to multiple levels of leadership

Technical Skills Requirements:  System Center Operations Manager (SCOM):
