Compensation Range: $124,945.60 - 187,428.80/yr.


The compensation for this role listed on this posting is in compliance with applicable law.  The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on the individual’s skills, experience, internal/market equity factors, and qualifications.  This posted minimum and maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonably expect to compensate for the position.  Furthermore, all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy.  Compensation for positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by the agreements in the aforementioned document.

 

General Summary: 

The Clinical Senior Practice Leader manages and provides operational leadership to complex, multi-site, and multi-specialty clinical services across the MarinHealth Medical Network. This role ensures alignment with MarinHealth’s enterprise-wide goals, focusing on safety, quality, affordability, patient satisfaction, and access. Working in close collaboration with the physician dyad or designated leadership, the Senior Practice Leader oversees the operational management and coordination of clinical services, ensuring that systems, policies, and procedures are in place to deliver superior patient experiences and quality clinical outcomes, while also ensuring high levels of employee and physician satisfaction and optimal financial performance.

This position collaborates with physicians and leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical practice business plans. It identifies areas for improvement, implements strategic initiatives, and ensures compliance with clinic policies, affiliate requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations. The Senior Practice Leader applies a strategic and tactical approach to standardizing workflows, identifying best practices, and executing action plans that drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities also include managing operational budgets, ensuring the effective use of personnel, resources, and supplies to meet financial targets. The Clinical Senior Practice Leader provides quality oversight, ensuring proper and accurate clinical documentation, and serves as a key resource for clinical and non-clinical staff regarding revenue cycle processes, claims completion, and billing accuracy.

In this leadership role, the Clinical Senior Practice Leader builds and maintains strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to collaborate on initiatives and resolve challenges. This individual provides expert guidance in resolving complex or sensitive issues with a compassionate, solution-focused approach. Accountable for role-modeling the principles outlined in the C.A.R.E.S. Standards and MarinHealth’s mission, “To provide exceptional healthcare services in a compassionate and healing environment.”

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Management, Business Administration or related field is required. Masters preferred.

License & Certifications:

  •         Professional, active licensure in California; In either: Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or similar field is required.
  •         Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience:

  • 5 years or more of supervisory and/or management experience in a complex and/or multi-site/multi-specialty healthcare setting, including but not limited to, budgets, fiscal management, and revenue cycle.

  • Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care and facilitates patient care activities, ensuring operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Oversees operational clinic work, including procedures and Apex In Basket management, to maintain streamlined processes and timely responses.
  • Manages clinic operational flow to ensure quality care, patient safety, and compliance with regulations, while keeping abreast of and implementing new or changing patient care standards, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Knowledge of operations in complex multi-site/multi-specialty ambulatory settings and how workflows impact other areas within the Health System and Network.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local regulations related to ambulatory settings to ensure compliance.
  • Develops staff in collaborative decision-making to enhance communication and improve clinical and patient care outcomes.
  • Proven leadership skills, including team building, coaching/mentoring, and motivating others for high performance in patient care and operational excellence.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop healthcare practice standards and service improvements, driving consistency and quality across multiple locations.
  • Collaborates with physicians and key stakeholders to provide input on quality improvement initiatives and foster relationships that enhance patient care.
  • In-depth understanding of operations and clinical workflows, including cross-functional clinical episodes within the acute setting, to guide smooth transitions in care.
  • Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking to develop plans, identify obstacles, and resolve operational issues while maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Ability to build and establish effective working partnerships to achieve business objectives, ensuring alignment with both clinical and operational goals.
  • Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Able to handle difficult circumstances and make sound business decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing business priorities.
