Position Title : Sr. Governance Analyst-Capital Markets  

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Sr. Governance Analyst to support the Capital Markets Group . This first-line governance and operational risk position will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to work on strategic development initiatives in a dynamic environment. The Capital Markets Sr. Governance Analyst will support initiatives related to process improvement and documenting financial reporting and other controls. The successful candidate will gain exposure to all areas of residential mortgage capital markets including trading, hedging, operations, structured finance, and analytics and can look forward to a progressive career path and continued opportunities for professional growth.

  What you will do:

  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance
  • Partner with Capital Markets team members and other stakeholders to complete quarterly and annual SOX updates and reviews
  • Gain deep familiarity with all Capital Markets processes and their associated risks and controls
  • Maintain project planning detail for the SOX program
  •   Support Governance initiatives
  • Maintain project planning detail for governance initiatives
  • Represent the Capital Markets Group in working groups and task forces
  • Update and coordinate the review of critical documents
  • Coordinate and support as needed during internal audits and regulatory examinations
  • Assist with other analytical, documentation, or monitoring projects as assigned

What you will need:

  • 4 plus years of relevant residential mortgage experience at a bank or large non-bank financial institution
  • Basic knowledge of the residential mortgage industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance or related field 
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to coordinate and interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to learn about complex business processes 
  • Ability to triage critical tasks and adhere to firm deadlines
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint & Word)
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, pivot tables

  • Experience with Visio or LucidChart a plus
  • Experience in audit, risk management, or SOX compliance helpful but not required
