Behavior Specialist I – Mental Health Agency with great training opportunities


Mobile Crisis services for Solano County will include the provision of emergency crisis intervention services to Solano County residents both children and adults who are acutely suicidal, homicidal, or gravely disabled. Services include phone crisis screening and triage; in-person crisis evaluation and crisis intervention services; and linkage to an appropriate level of follow-up service including, but not limited to, referring individuals to the crisis stabilization unit (CSU) or a local emergency department (ED).The Mobile Crisis Unit will deliver in partnership with local law enforcement, the CSU, local EDs, and Solano County Behavioral Health (SCBH) a coordinated system of crisis services.

The Position : We are looking for a on-call Behavior Specialist in  Fairfield!


Salary Range: _$15.18-$21.25

Actual offers will be determined by the candidate’s creditable years of experience in conjunction with internal equity considerations and based on the organization’s current compensation practices.



  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS) in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Education or related field.
  • One (1) year experience working with children who are Serious Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and their families required.
  • Able to articulate the perspective of an individual who has experienced complex needs and has received services from the mental health or probation systems. This ability is typically acquired from having personally received intensive mental health, child welfare or probation services (e.g. special education, psychiatric hospitalization, residential treatment, Probation or foster care placement).  (Preferred Qualification)


  • Under direct supervision, develops and implements positive behavior supports and intervention strategies to address significant behavioral problems for youth and their families/caregivers in a variety of environments.
  • Works collaboratively with others on the clinical team to support creation and implementation of stabilization and service plans.
  • Works independently with youth and or families in a variety of settings including homes, community, and/or treatment settings.
