Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo, LLP, a defense firm with offices throughout the Carolinas, seeks an experienced Word Processor to work in a team environment. This position can be full-time or part-time. Candidates must have the ability to work remotely as well as in one of the firm’s offices as needed.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses strong problem solving skills, high computer software proficiency, excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional grammar, spelling, document editing and proofreading skills. Candidate must be detail oriented, have a professional demeanor, be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment and have a customer-service focus. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a word processor or transcriptionist in a professional setting. Heavy transcription, minimum typing speed of 65 wpm. Proficiency in several of the following areas is important to a candidate’s success: Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, document management, case management, and expertise in formatting documents, merging documents and creating templates. Knowledge of legal document formatting and appellate court procedures is a plus.
Primary duties include:
•Transcribing documents in support of litigation
•Transcribing recorded statements
•Formatting motions and appeals
•Creating and modifying templates in case management system
