Senior Maintenace Worker
|Pay Minimum:||$10.20 hourly|
|Work Hours:||7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.|
DUTIES: To assist maintenance staff engaged in a variety of water maintenance activities. To excavate, replace, repair and maintain water lines and service lines; install splits on service and stubs for new residential houses; repair leaks on fire hydrants and water mains; perform minor repairs and report any major repairs needed to the supervisor. Perform general maintenance duties as assigned. May work evening and weekend as required by staffing shortages or emergency and other duties by the supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of responsible maintenance and construction experience. Plumbing experience a plus. Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES: Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
