Senior Budget Analyst
|Work Hours:||8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.|
Duties: Provide lead supervision over assigned budgeting professional, technical or clerical staff: provide or coordinate staff training. Provide assistance in the preparation of the annual and final budget; assist auditors as requested answer questions regarding annual and final budget reports. Analyze various funds, financial summaries and statements; initiate improvements of revisions in the budgeting systems or its procedures. Review a variety of ledgers and accounts: review journal entries; examine entries to verify accuracy; correct records as necessary. Monitor departmental budgets; assist in the establishment of budgetary controls; maintain budget controls; check certification of new employees against budgetary limits.
Qualifications: Four years of increasingly responsible professional government budgeting or related experience, preferably in municipal or public accounting, including one year of administrative or supervisor responsibility. Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work Accounting,Finance or related field.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
