Grounds Maintenance Field Supervisor

Duties: Direct the maintenance of parks including cleaning litter, mowing grass and trimming trees and shrubs. Inspect grounds and facilities for needed maintenance and repairs; plan and delegate work; review work in progress and correct deficiencies as necessary. Manage and coordinate the work of supervisory and maintenance personnel. Operate and maintain municipal park grounds and facilities constructions, maintenance, and repair machinery and equipment. Oversee maintenance of equipment; arrange equipment service with the city garage.
Qualifications: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal park grounds and facilities, and street right of ways, including one year of lead supervisory responsibility. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in grounds maintenance, horticulture or related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. Perform other duties as assigned.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES: Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
