Background
The project will reach two million children with biofortified food products every school day to combat high levels of micronutrient deficiency, and provide a policy, institutional, and private sector roadmap to scale the approach through the national program, which reaches over 100 million students. It will enable improvements in farm incomes by strengthening forward and backward market linkages and expanding technical assistance across two value chains – iron pearl millet (IPM) and zinc wheat (ZW). It will enable economies of scale through facilitating aggregation, partnerships with lead firms in school feeding supply chains and industry coordination. It will engage with public and private sector stakeholders to drive greater investment in high potential product lines. The project will ensure women have every opportunity to be integrated in market-led activities such as extension and training, value addition, processing, and access to resilience supporting technologies.
HarvestPlus is seeking a Training Specialist who will anchor the implementation of a new project “Addressing Micronutrient Deficiencies Through Mid-Day Meals (MDM) Programs in India”. The project is being implemented with funding from the Happel Foundation and the states of focus include Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
The Training Specialist will work with the Project Team Lead to design training modules and assessment tools for stakeholders across the value chain. The Training Specialist will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing, delivering curriculum, and learning materials and for managing all phases of the assignment. Interested applicants must have work authorization to work in India.
Job Summary
HarvestPlus is seeking a Training Specialist to support the team. This position is a one-year appointment and is renewable contingent upon continued satisfactory performance and program funding. The Training Specialist will work on drafting manuals, curriculum for private sector, civil society, and government organizations. The Training Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Field Agents to design training tools to cater the needs of various types of stakeholders across the supply chains.
