    Accountabilities:

    Works with the VP Finance & CFO on business opportunities and growth:

    • Identify strategic opportunities, conduct research, complete environmental scans and support the development of plans with key partners to advance the interest of the hospital
    • Complete competitive/ business environmental research and benchmarking to determine emerging issues and trends and analyze the impact/ implications of those trends in the various business line strategic plans
    • Evaluates new growth opportunities, working with cross-functional partners to unveil opportunities and threats, outline data driven strategic decision and frame actionable strategic recommendations, presenting findings to key stakeholders
    • Consults with business line leaders to help them design their strategy execution plans within the strategic plan framework
    • Provide reports on progress of strategic initiatives

    Works with the VP Finance & CFO on the Campus Development project:

    • Supports the submission of the PCOP Request for Funding in alignment with the MOH Policy Guidelines; creation of annual operating plans, funding for projected service volumes, facility costs, equipment amortization, Start up and Transition/ Trailing Costs.
    • Supports the strategic elements of the Board and Government reporting of the Campus Development Project which includes financing; cash flow projections; obtaining additional and increased funding
    • Supports the development of business cases that supports strategic and operational goals

    Works with the VP Finance & CFO, to coordinate and/ or participate in various projects as assigned, to ensure that they are completed efficiently and effectively in support of achieving desired objectives. Specific tasks associated with project coordination include:

    • Determine and define project scope and objectives
    • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
    • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
    • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
    • Review and summarize related reports, legislation and standards
    • Prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations and other materials to demonstrate outcomes
    • Utilize best practices and evidence throughout project
    • Establish and maintain a contact with the key internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time
    • Develop and implement engagement strategies for key stakeholder groups
    • Monitor project plans and timelines to identify and address discrepancies, track progress, and meet project requirements; identify barriers to project completion for escalation to project sponsor and other stakeholders
    • Provide written and verbal progress reports as required

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree in Business, Economics or Commerce from a recognized University or MBA
    • CPA designation and active member in good standing
    • Evidence of continuing Education in Project Management
    • Education in Quality Improvement
    • Master’s prepared preferred
    • CFA, Project Management certification with a PMP designation
    • A minimum of five years professional experience in managing complex priority initiatives in a hospital setting
    • Stakeholder relationship and collaboration; proven ability to build and maintain relationships across departments and programs, including physicians and staff.
    • Excellent facilitation skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including presentation and report writing skills.
    • Demonstrated application of data and business analytics skills and excels in problem solving; is detailed oriented and a critical thinker.
    • Understanding of and experienced in project management and/or organizational change management.
    • Demonstrated asset valuation, financial reporting and analysis, budget development and cash flow / treasury skills and experience.
    • A proactive approach to problem solving and building positive working relationships.
    • Ability to anticipate, plan, prioritize, organize and follow up on multiple tasks and projects.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
    • Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Access) and strong Internet research skills.
    • Evidence of good performance history and attendance record.
