Job Overview:

As the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the hospital's growth, expanding its services, and establishing strong partnerships to position the organization as a leader in the healthcare industry. This position is accountable to implement the approved business strategies including the acquisition of new customers and growth of existing customers including the Independent 3rd party automobile assessment services; Prosthetics & Orthotics and 3rd party fee for a service rehabilitation program.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assessing market conditions and opportunities, developing consistent processes to communicate insights with leadership and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Maintain relationships with key partners, ensure targeted deployment of educational, consultative, and other services. Manage and retain relationships with existing clients and business through legal agreements.
  • Analyze Results on an ongoing basis and report to insurers by means of monthly statistical reports (referrals and revenue) to identify opportunities and targets;
  • Facilitate satisfaction surveys to build action plans aimed at opportunities for growth;
  • In-depth understanding and awareness of customer (insurer specific) needs and processes.
  • Increasing client base:
  • Customer targeting and identification, customer research and needs; assessment, industry/market trends identification, market strategy development;
  • Attend and participate in industry events to develop key relationships and opportunities for growth; and having an in-depth knowledge of regulations, business products and value proposition.
  • Writing business proposals to respond to RFPs; monitor RFP cycles.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area such as health care management, business administration, economics, finance, or marketing is required.
  • Master’s or advanced degree in a relevant subject area such as health care management, business administration, law or related field is preferred.5 years of professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leadership background, with mergers, acquisitions, and business development efforts.
  • Knowledge and relevant experience of Ontario auto insurance market and relevant industries such as medical services and rehabilitation.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of business development strategy.· Conflict resolution and ability to self-motivate and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining customer bases, preferably within third party assessment and/or treatment marketplaces.
  • Preference of experience and knowledge of personal injury insurance and/or independent assessments.
