PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The USAID Africa Trade and Investment (ATI) activity is designed to bolster the U.S. Government’s ability to boost trade and investment to, from, and within the African continent. The continent-wide program is USAID’s flagship effort in support of the Prosper Africa initiative and will expand and accelerate two-way trade and investment between African nations and the United States.
Driven by market demand, ATI embraces innovative approaches to achieve its goals. ATI is designed as a small, core set of centrally coordinated technical and institutional support activities, and a large, flexible performance-based subcontracting and grants under contract facility designed to support the needs and opportunities that USAID Missions and the private sector identify. ROLE’S PURPOSE: The Operations & Systems Intern is a short-term position which will be responsible for providing support to the ATI Quality & Systems team. The Intern will support the Team with procurement/grants process support, data input & analytics, targeted research on best practices for partnership development and private sector engagement, and various administrative tasks as assigned (e.g., approvals, reporting, and invoice tracking).
This internship offers a valuable learning opportunity for individuals aspiring to work in the international development sector, particularly in private sector engagement. By supporting procurement and grants processes, conducting targeted research, and managing data analytics, the intern will gain hands-on experience with key operational systems. He/she will also be exposed to best practices in partnership development and private sector engagement, critical components of today's international development strategies. This role provides an immersive environment to understand the intricacies of cross-sector collaboration and the practical skills needed to drive impactful, sustainable development outcomes.

Compensation The expected pay rate for this position is $22/hour.
