Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, recently voted #1 in the nation as the best large company to work for by National Mortgage News, is seeking a Community Development Advisor to join our dynamic Business Development team!  This position will be responsible for conducting ongoing business development activities focused on creating new affordable lending partnerships, awareness, and education to generate origination opportunities.  The Community Development Advisor is also responsible for understanding and analyzing the data around program adoption and performance within our Sales Team. 
 

What you’ll be doing

  • Establishing, building, and maintaining strategic business relationships with lending agencies, builders, municipalities, housing organizations, and other groups that focus on affordable housing.  
  • Collaborating with each business unit (i.e. Sales, Operations, and Corporate) to educate, train, and communicate internally and externally tools, resources and various programs related to affordable housing.   
  • Working with internal and external partners to host workshops in the community focused on homeownership preparation, financial awareness, and affordable lending opportunities.
  • Developing and utilizing networking opportunities to further strengthen Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group's relationships in underserved communities and identifying customer opportunities.  
  • Ensuring an excellent customer experience with each client throughout the entire homebuying process, including preparation through closing and beyond.
  • Partnering with the Marketing department to help coordinate multiple marketing initiatives and events across our footprint, while creating exposure and awareness. 
  • Providing quarterly updates to the Executive Leadership Team on the SmartPath to Homeownership program.
  • Researching and analyzing data to uncover needs and opportunities.
  • Traveling to markets within Atlantic Bay's footprint is expected.

What you’ll bring

  • Five to seven years' experience successfully growing and managing business relationships within the mortgage or real estate industry
  • Experience and working knowledge of affordable lending products and solutions required
  • NMLS license in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and/or Georgia and a willingness to obtain multiple states
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and potential partners
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Amazing attitude with a focus on the customer experience, building customer loyalty and finding solutions to help others
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify key networking opportunities
  • Excellent organization, planning and time management skills
  • Understanding of how to analyze data to monitor performance and effectiveness
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
