We are looking for an Android & iOS Software Engineer to fill an advanced development role that interacts with external software developers and systems integrators in their creation of solutions on the RealWear platform.

About you:  

You will be part of the RealWear platform software team, working on iOS and android applications that advance the capabilities our products. You will resolve and provide solution advice for problems in the areas of application code, system configuration, and advanced use cases.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Android & iOS applications and APIs for the RealWear platform
  • Design and implement solutions for handsfree, voice-driven systems
  • Become an expert at the software architecture and the use cases of our existing voice-driven interface
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team (UX, Backend, Android, Web, Cloud, Product Management)
  • Participate in application design and code reviews
  • Perform research tasks aimed at expanding the features we can offer on our platform
  • Provide technical documentation for new code written and features completed

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years Android & iOS application development experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Android & iOS APIs and SDK development/deployment
  • Programming experience in Kotlin & Swift
  • Solid understanding of clean software design principles
  • Experience writing effective unit tests & instrumentation tests
  • Strong architecture skills with an emphasis on API design, documentation, and code reusability
  • Good knowledge of revision control and code review tools like Jira, Git, and/or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with build infrastructures like Gradle, Xcode, and/or Azure DevOps
  • Working knowledge of agile software development methodologies, e.g. Agile, SCRUM, XP

Having one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Experience with Android AOSP development
  • Programming experience with Java and/or C/C++ 
  • Experience with Unity, Xamarin, and other cross-platform mobile development environments
  • Experience working with a mix of embedded, mobile and server technologies
  • Experience with wearables and/or speech recognition.
