On behalf of our Client, is global manufacturer and distributor of networking and telecommunication equipment, offering solutions for Service Providers, Enterprises, Governments and Industrial customers, we are sourcing for a Storage Engineer.

Job Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing new Enterprise Storage solutions improving the efficiency of the existing Storage infrastructure for some or all of the following Storage Vendors (Dell EMC, Hitachi Vantara HDS, HP Enterprise or NetApp)
• Installing, configuring and supporting enterprise Storage infrastructure system/storage,
• Installing and configuring Enterprise Backup solution and hardware
• Investigating faults in the customer enterprise Storage system
• Arranging and upgrading Storage system to the latest revision
• Storage allocation and provisioning – RAID groups, volumes, LUN’s and virtualization
• Diagnose and troubleshoot backup and storage related issues
  Performs routine backup policy changes and ensures all backups are properly run and completed
• Performs restore for Windows, Linux, Unix and NDMP filesystem; Oracle, SQL and Exchange databases
• Liaising with vendors in providing support for Backup and Storage software and hardware related issues
• Provide technical resolution to incidents and problems event related to Backup and Storage
• Document operational best practices and procedures
• Producing Project Documentation including detailed architectural Diagram

 

Job Requirements

 

Education:

Holding a diploma or degree in the following subject is desirable :

• Computer science
• Computer systems and networks
• Electrical/electronic engineering

 

Certification:

• NetApp NCP and NCIE
• Dell EMC Storage deployment Engineer
• Hitachi Vantara Storage certification preferred
   

Experience

• Must have a knowledge and experience in Enterprise Storage System and Enterprise Backup environment such as:

• Symantec NetBackup Appliance 7.x
• HPDP
• EMC Avamar
• EMC Networker
• HDS AMS series
• HDS HUSVM
• USPv, USPvm
• VSP storage array
• NetApp filer (FAS3140, FAS2240 and FAS3240)
• SAN switches (Brocade 48K, 8510, 7800, 5120, 4100, 300, Cisco MDS)
• Storage replication using HDS HUR, COW and Shadow Image
  Enterprise Backup Solution (Veritas NetBackup, IBM Tivoli, Rubrik, Commvault)

• Troubleshooting experience in Backup and Storage
• Basic knowledge in Linux OS and commands
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar job role
• Working experience in IT System Integrator companies will be preferred

 

Personnel requirement:

• Strong understanding of Enterprise Storage solutions and deployment
• Strong understanding of Enterpruse Storage concepts and  infrastructure and Storage Hardware (Dell EMC/NETAPP/Pure Storage)
• Ability to create accurate infrastructure diagrams and documentation for design and planning Storage infrastructure systems
• Provides specific detailed information for Storage hardware and software selection.
• An analytical mind
