Responsibilities
- Assist in advising Management on all matters pertaining to occupational safety, fire and health and their compliance measures
- Assist in formulating and reviewing safety guidelines, instructional manuals and fire emergency procedures
- Assist in the promotion of safety awareness activities to inculcate safety awareness among employees
- Maintain proper accident records and statistics and to conduct accident investigations
- Conduct routine safety inspections and conduct safety audit of work areas
- Conduct gas free tests and endorsement of PTW for hazardous works
- Assist in drawing up testing/inspections schedules for the testing of fixed fire fighting and safety equipment.
- Conduct safety orientation and induction briefing to new employees and contractors’ Supervisors & Engineers.
- Conduct fire fighting training for CERT Team, Ops shift staff and contractors to respond to emergencies.
- Conduct annual noise monitoring measurements for the whole station.
- To be a Team Leader of the Station Rescue Team and to effect rescue operation with other team members when needed.
- To develop a video based training program on the safe work procedures for works, such as WAH, confined spaces, hot work, etc. This is to form a basic safety education training to educate and further enhance safety awareness of all workers (staff & contractors).
- To develop and implement a comprehensive holistic approach to fire fighting training for all relevant stakeholders – Active Fire Fighters, Reservist Fire Fighters, Ops staff and contractors to ensure that they are proficient in the fire fighting technique.
- To engage contractors and their Supervisors for feedback & follow up actions on changes and implementation of any safety rules & regulations. This is to create better understanding and corporation between contractors and company for better safety awareness and culture
Requirements
- Recognized University degree or Diploma in a relevant Technical discipline or equivalent from a recognized University or Polytechnic in Singapore.
- Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience, of which 2-3 years must be in a managerial capacity
- Must be a registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower
- Must be a registered Fire Safety Manager with the SCDF.
- Confined Space and ERT certified.
