Our client is a reputable name in the Shipping Industry. Currently, they are seeking a well qualified maritime professional to join them as "Head of Risk Management & Compliance".
In this role, you will be contributing in the following areas :
- Establish, review and implement Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework to identify, manage and monitor the risks of organisation to ensure its effectiveness and relevance in changing business, geopolitical and related landscape
- Provide thought leadership, recommendations, strategies and procedures to Management and stakeholders to manage potential risks
- Lead and partner with stakeholders in the implementation of ERM, monitor progress and create a risk awareness and management culture within the Organisation through training and collaborations
- Provide guidance in policies implementation and review of key policies and procedures
- Perform due diligence, evaluating opportunities and risks of the industry, competitive landscape and strategies for asset management
- Review, identify and present pertinent risks and formulate sound mitigation strategies and reports for new investments and divestments
- Develop independent financial models for projecting IRR, NPA, RO, WACC and related metrics and corporate financial ratios
- Lead, develop and ensure team is engaged and effective in meeting department and business goals
- Assist with any other works as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Degree with at least 15 years relevant experience in a global firm
- Strong work knowledge in ERM and investment and divestment for major projects, mergers and acquisitions
- Possess in-depth understanding of the opportunities and risks in maritime industry, its competitive landscape and strategies for asset management
- Prior experience in liner business will be advantageous
- Keen observer who keeps abreast of global outlook and generates analytical insights of geopolitical and economic trends, market developments, and potential value creation and/or impact on Organisation
- Acute commercial awareness to formulate sound mitigation strategies
- Good knowledge of COSO/ISO 31000 ERM and key risks such as strategic, compliance, operations, technology and financial risks and their correlations to the Organisation's risk appetite
- Hands-on person, highly adaptable and enjoys working in a fast pace environment and new challenges in pioneering works that spans across the Organisation
