Our client is a reputable name in the Shipping Industry. Currently, they are seeking a well qualified candidate to join them as "Quality, Safety & Security (QSS) Superintendent (Container)".

In this role, you will be contributing in the following areas :

• Be involved in the implementation of ISM, ISPS, MLC, Company's safety and environment management system and policies on board the fleet vessels
• Assist the DPA/CSO in review of the Company's SMS system, procedures, and maintenance of the relevant records
• Assist the DPA/CSO in external audits and follow ups
• Conduct office, overseas office, and vessel internal audits, inspections and necessary follow ups
• Conduct risk assessments of ship operation
• Assist the CSO in monitoring of maritime security threats, conduct ship security risk assessment and necessary follow up
• Respond to shipboard emergencies, follow up and provide guidance to master to control situation
• Conduct safety investigation into fleet incidents/accidents/near misses, and report to the DPA/Management, analyze the trends and necessary follow ups
• Assist the DPA in planning, conduct and follow up of safety campaigns
• Directly involved in and provide guidance to masters on ship operation issues
• Assist the DPA in development, conduct, and follow up on shipboard training programs
• Other safety, security, environmental, operation related projects and duties

Requirements:

• Class 1 COC Master Mariner (Foreign Going) with prior sailing as Master on container or dry cargo ships on international trade
• Possess certification for ISM, ISPS, MLC Internal Auditor
• Has prior shore working experience and shipboard internal audits/training, familiar with implementation of safety management systems, risk management and accident investigation and cause analysis processes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills (both written and spoken English)
• Team player and able to work under tight deadlines.
