Our client is a well established container ship Owning MNC. Currently, they are seeking a well experienced individual to join them as " Senior Executive/Asst Manager (Crewing)(Container)”.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee crew schedule, crew rotation, sign on/off documentations, crew welfare
- Review and approve travel claims, hotel invoices and other related vessels related bills
- Verify, checks and submit to senior management for approval on crew payroll
- Ensure monthly crew’s salary and expenses claims are paid on time
- Responsible all aspects of crew management for vessels
- Maintain the crewing matrix for each vessel and monitor the on signing and off signing in compliance with the requirement
- Processing of Invoice Payment Request (IPR)
- Oversee Work pass application process & Procedures
- Oversee Annual Levy waiver request completion
- Ensure crew database in maintained and updated as required.
- Ensure that the crew are qualified, meeting the Company, Charters, OCIMF and flag state requirements
- Ensuring Marine/technical Department to conduct interview for new employment
- Ensuring Marine/technical Department to conduct confirmation/annual appraisal for ship crew
- Review and check on all travel claims, hotel invoices and other related vessels related bills
- Negotiating terms of employment for sea staff
- Responsible for inputs to budgeting/rolling forecast covering Monthly Running Costs for the vessels
- Submission of Annual Budget timely
- Compliance with safe manning requirements and effective Crew planning and execution
- Ensure and govern the coverage of adequate vessel manning, allowing for sufficient experience, consistent teamwork and on-board performance capability along with succession planning and promotion preparedness in cooperation with the rest of the technical/marine team
- Provide strategic inputs for projected recruitment requirements
- Management of the long-term crewing strategy
- Monitoring and reporting crewing KPIs on monthly and quarterly basis
- Updating of crew matrix
- Exploring and work on new opportunities with multiple crewing agencies
- Understand the various visa requirements required for crews
- Participation in DOC / MLC and TMSA Audits
- Give guidance and advice to the crewing team regarding operational matters
- Developing and driving initiatives to further improve recruitment and retention of seafarers, process streamlining and improvement, automation and digitalisation
- Liaising with union and seafarers on matters of labor disputes
- Ensure compliance with Company Human Rights policies
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in related field.
- Ideally 3 to 5 years senior level experience, preferably in Maritime (Ship Owner or Shipmanagement) Industry
- Possess container or dry or tanker company knowledge
- Multilingual would be an asset
- Meticulous, pro-active with positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work well with others in a fast-paced working environment
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Knowledge of Mandatory STCW certifications, Seafarers’ employment, MLC and Flag State requirement
- Understand MOM regulations and procedures
- Leadership and people management experience
- Proficient with MS Office applications
