Our client is a reputable name in the Shipping Industry. Currently, they are seeking a well qualified candidate to join them as "Assistant General Manager (Trade Management)(Long Haul Trade)(Shipping)".

In this role, you will be contributing in the following areas :

• Strategy development and implementation of assigned trade services to ensure optimum financial performance
• Management of trade routes, agents, maximise lifting, pricing strategies, timely and effective resolution of any trade issues that arise
• Proactive approach in trade management by keeping abreast of market, geo-political conditions & its implications to trade and business
• Monitor and analyse agents’ performance against allocations to ensure optimal loadings
• Partner with consortiums on service collaborations and liaise with different business functions for effective services performance
• Supervise, guide and develop a team of trade executives and managers

 Requirements:

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Business or related discipline
• At least 10 years relevant trade and commercial experience in liner shipping with a global shipping firm
• Commercially astute and be able to identify new business opportunities and generate trade leads where possible
• Self-driven, resilient, problem solver with strong analytical, communications, stakeholders and managerial skills
• A team player who is highly adaptable and able to work in cross cultural environment
• Candidates from logistics /freight forwarding industry performing Ocean Freight may also apply
