Our client is a reputable Shipping MNC. Currently, they are seeking a well qualified candidate to join them as "Line Operations Manager".
In this role, you will be responsible for the following :
- Ensure the safe planning and reduction of operating cost of vessels as part of the Line Management team, and to provide a professional link between Vessels Master and Line Management team in regard to all operational matters
- Coordinate with the Group’s planning teams to ensure Ship Monitoring and tracking of all vessels are done effectively on a daily basis
- Check and report Vessel Performance and control vessel bunker consumption and liaise closely with the energy efficiency team
- Deliver in-house training and support to the Group’s Line Managers to ensure all alerts in Vessel Reports are resolved with an overall view to reduce Bunker consumption
- Negotiation of all terminal contracts and ensure minimal increase
- Ensure that all terminal charge increases are agreed in conjunction with the respective Line Manager and communicated to the commercial department for recovery from the trade
- Implement optimum terminal contract expiry in order for the commercial department to ensure timely recovery from customers
- Collate and engage all Tug contracts to ensure absolute cost effectiveness
- Monitor Tug usage on the Group’s vessels with a view to reduce the overall cost of Tugs
- Monitor Terminal Productivity of all Hubs and way ports and follow up to improve Terminal turn around
- Assist the claims department with respect to Cargo and Damage claims as and when required and as well as speed / consumption claims when necessary
- Take the lead on all Operational and Regulatory matters, liaising closely with local agents to understand and prepare for local changes and their impact on all services across assigned Area
- Monitor Operational efficiency of all Agents with special reference to their ability to deliver operational requirements of the company
- Oversees the operational aspects of all new projects such as vessel design comparison for acquisition and chartering
- Coordinate with the Group’s planning teams to understand Vessel restrictions and loadability for pre-charter requirements and day-to-day problems with maximizing the vessels
- Cost cutting program focusing on terminals, mooring, garbage and towage
Requirements:
- COC Class 2/1 in the field of Nautical Studies or Marine Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in relevant scope with minimum 5 years in leading a team
- In-depth experience in Logistics or supply chain, vessel planning and terminal productivity
- Knowledge in cargo load ability and maximization of vessel utilization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Proactive, stress resistant and assertive;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
