Summary

Responsible to manage and lead the REC Silicon Quality System and ISO compliance, including customer and internal quality report (CQRs and IQRs) processes and systems for the Butte facility and its products. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the ISO certification process, by staying apprised of current standards and providing guidance to management and staff
  • Member of facility management team who assure a proactive quality focus to maintain Butte’s position as a leading global semiconductor materials supplier  
  • Lead continuous improvement program of REC products and processes
  • Develop and lead internal audits processes and procedures to maintain ISO certification
  • Receive, monitor and track all CQRs and IQRs through closure
  • Develop and implement system for tracking and reporting quality issues
  • Provide QA review and approval for new product or process change implementation
  • Develop and coordinate improvement plans to prevent quality deficiency reoccurrences through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and procedure/process reviews
  • Coordinate and communicate quality-related issues with customers, including CQR response, preparing and conducting audit, audit follow-up and any other customer/product quality-related issues
  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering key reporting and analysis of performance metrics results
  • Responsible for the coordination and delivery of key periodic reports, documents and presentation for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and other interested parties as required

Qualifications

Incumbents must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience

  • Requires a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of demonstrated experience directly working with Quality Control and Quality Assurance systems, showing progressive responsibility for leadership/management of said systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Direct experience with customer communications, including support services
  • Experience with semiconductor materials global supply chain preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of experience with setting up reporting and communication systems beneficial
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general understanding of formatting rules are essential
  • Proficiency with using databases/systems to monitor, analyze and report data is essential. Includes knowledge of statistical analytical tools and methodologies
  • Ability to work in Prism, SAP and/or other quality/customer service systems desirable

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and techniques
  • Must pay rigorous attention to detail, be meticulous and accurate
  • Ability to write routine and complex reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and auditors
  • Familiar with REC Silicon production processes
  • Working knowledge of customer service, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Must be intellectually curious and tactfully challenge the norms in REC Silicon’s production processes
  • Must be able and efficient at building relationships
  • Must be pro-active and a self-starter
  • Able to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Understanding of REC systems and people as well as the informal network is a plus
