Construction Coordinator

Aylmer Road Complex (ARC)

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Construction Coordinator in the Engineering Projects Department. Reporting to the Manager, Airport Terminal Projects, the successful candidate will manage construction and related activities for engineering projects at locations across Sea Island.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing construction activities, oversee construction site work, and ensure compliance with YVR standards and safety procedures.
  • Administering construction contracts, process project documentation, and support the Project Engineer
  • Interfacing with stakeholders to resolve site issues and support operational commissioning and handover.
  •  Handle materials management, including procurement, storage, and deliveries of project materials.

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum five years of construction management experience in institutional projects, with at least two years at an airport or similar complex environment supplemented by a certificate or diploma in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, industry practices, cost estimating, scheduling, safety, and hazardous materials management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with strong ability to organize, coordinate and time manage.
  • Ability to identify and assess risks.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM and project management software (Procore, or equivalent).

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range:  Band 7: $72,008 to $94,115 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
