Core responsibilities
  • Patrolling:

    Regularly patrol assigned areas, including the gaming floor, to prevent theft, fraud, and other misconduct. 

     
  • Surveillance:

    Monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and alarms to observe activities and report suspicious behavior. 

     
  • Emergency response:

    Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and assist patrons and employees when needed. 

     
  • Access control:

    Control visitor and employee access to specific areas of the casino. 

     
  • Incident reporting:

    Complete detailed and accurate incident reports for all observed violations, disturbances, or other significant events. 

     
  • Compliance:

    Ensure compliance with all casino rules, regulations, and applicable state laws. 

     
  • Cash handling:

    Escort and oversee the transfer of cash, from machines or other areas, to ensure security. 

     
  • Liaison:

    Collaborate with other security officers, casino management, and law enforcement agencies. 

     
Additional duties
  • Preventative measures: Take action to deter criminal activity. 
  • Investigations: Assist with internal investigations and review recorded footage for relevant information. 
  • Equipment checks: Conduct routine checks on security equipment. 
  • Mediation: Use problem-solving and mediation skills to handle disputes. 
  • Building inspections: Perform security checks of specific areas or the entire property.
